As a professional Celebrant, I have been trained to create for you a bespoke and unique wedding ceremony that reflects your own choices, beliefs, wishes and values.
Having a celebrant led wedding gives you the freedom to choose when and where you want to hold your ceremony. From a twilight ceremony in the woods to a sunrise celebration on a beach, from a windmill to a castle to a marquee in your garden to the spot where you first met. As your celebrant, it's vital that you feel a connection with me and my work, and for that reason I will meet you long before the big day to ensure that we click and to find out exactly how I can help you create the ceremony that you want, that reflects your personality and your love for each other. It's all about you.
Within your ceremony, you can choose to have elements of your faith, religion or spiritual leaning. Or you can bring in a mixture of elements and rituals. These might include highly personalised symbolic elements of your love, songs, readings, poetry, prayers and blessings. You also might want to include other elements such as hand fasting, jumping the broom or a specific ritual that you yourselves have created. Perhaps most importantly, you can include your own vows - words that truly reflect your commitment to your beloved and your hopes for the future.
It's important to note that in order for a marriage to be recognised by UK law, you must sign the legal marriage register. This can be done in a church, a registry office or in a venue that has been licensed for marriage. In all cases, a licensed registrar must be present (this would be a minister of religion in a church). As a Celebrant I cannot legally marry you - you would have to register your marriage at a registry office either before or after the ceremony. This can be done very easily at your local registry office for a fee (these vary).
Your celebrant-led ceremony could then take place whenever and wherever you want, and can still include vows, exchange of wedding rings, readings, hymns, blessings and anything else that you'd like to include.
